Søren-Erik Svendsen

Søren-Erik M. Svendsen has more than 35 years of professional experience in financial management, corporate administration, organisational leadership and international development consultancy.

He served as Managing Director of PEMconsult A/S from September 2008 to October 2026. During his 18 years of leadership, he played a central role in modernising the company’s operations, strengthening cooperation between the office and its partners, and developing its financial and administrative systems. A key priority throughout his leadership has been the professional development of employees, fostering a working environment built on trust, responsibility and collaboration. This commitment to developing talent is reflected in the appointment of his successor from within the organisation and the progression of another office employee towards partnership.

He also contributed to the modernisation of PEMconsult’s IT infrastructure, digital processes and organisational practices, supporting the company’s continued development as an international consultancy. In November 2026, he transitioned to the position of Chief Financial Officer, continuing to contribute his extensive management experience and institutional knowledge to the company’s financial and organisational development.

Throughout his career, Søren-Erik has gained substantial experience in the financial and contractual management of international development projects funded by organisations including the European Union, Danida, Sida, KfW, GIZ, the World Bank and the UK’s development cooperation programmes. He has been responsible for the financial management and oversight of approximately 1,000 projects, including complex international assignments and long-term framework contracts.

His expertise includes corporate financial management, governance, strategic planning, contract administration, financial reporting, risk management and compliance with international donor requirements.
