Jens is a Partner in PEMconsult with 45 years of experience in the environment, water and sanitation sectors. The experience covers water resources management as well as water services in both rural and urban areas with a focus on institutional and private sector development, planning, M&E and design of integrated environmental, sanitation and health education programmes.
He is experienced in sector investment planning and approaches for sector coordination and sector wide approaches to planning from institutional development assignments and formulation of assistance programmes in Lesotho, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Uganda, Kenya, Sierra Leone and South Africa. He has worked extensively in the water and environment sectors in the Southern African region including urban environment and trans-boundary water resource management.
He has provided technical assistance to the rural water sector in Lesotho over the last 40 years through various long-term and part-time assignments. In addition, the working experience includes short assignments, programme review, appraisals, monitoring and evaluation in several African and Asian countries.
