Andreas brings over 30 years of senior leadership experience in environmental management, sustainable finance, and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) across international organizations, public institutions, and private companies. He has held multiple executive roles including Head of Department, Head of Sustainability, and Head of Discipline, with strong expertise in corporate and institutional governance, impact evaluation, risk management, due diligence, climate change mitigation, biodiversity and conservation, international standards for investments, and results-based reporting.
He has led major development programmes and portfolios, including a DKK 200 million Danida environment programme with seven components and over 100 staff, consistently delivering results on time and within budget. In a recent assignment he was Head of the Sustainability Unit (Sustainability Director) in a 100m EUR multi-sectorial investment programme called Investment for Employment. His leadership is characterized by strong stakeholder collaboration, and a practical, results-driven approach. He has a proven ability to build capacity, drive communication, and strengthen networks across large organizations.
Andreas has served as a member of IFU’s Investment Committee, editor of key IFU policies (Climate Policy Sustainability Policy and Corporate Governance Policy), board member of the UN Global Compact Network Denmark, aid quality assurance advisor to the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and secretary for and member of MFA Strategic Programme Committee. He also has extensive experience leading multi-disciplinary consultant teams during appraisals and review missions and securing supplementary financing for projects.
