Review of SEforALL 2018-2021

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) is an independent, not for profit, an international organisation working in the field of advocacy to promote faster actions towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7). The organization builds on the UN-Sustainable Energy for All initiative from 2011 and the appointment in 2012 of the Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Sustainable Energy for All. Denmark has supported SEforALL politically and financially since UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon launched it in 2011.
PEM has been assigned to conduct a review on SEEforALL’s capacity and performance in the thematic areas of energy access for all, energy efficiency and cooling, the role of Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on SDG7, and collaboration with key partners on the SEforALL accelerators – notably African Development Bank, World Bank ESMAP, and the Copenhagen Centre for Energy Efficiency at UNEP-DTU Partnership, including on the established accelerators and the “three per cent club” – a deliverable from the UN Climate Action Summit. The review also looks into SEforALL’s ability to integrate crosscutting issues including HRBA, governance, gender and youth in the execution of its work programme.
