Formulation of Danish Support to the International Energy Agency (IEA’s) Clean Energy Transitions Programme (CETP)

PEMconsult is contracted by Danida to formulate the Danish Support to the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) Clean Energy Transition Programme (CETP). IEA aims to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy. The Danish and European Union funding launched IEA’s Energy Efficiency in Emerging Economies (E4) Programme in 2014, and Denmark has supported a second phase (2018-2020) of E4, which led to the launch of the broader Clean Energy Transitions Programme (CETP) in November 2017. CETP is an ambitious effort to accelerate global clean energy transition in emerging economies. The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities (MCEU) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), will now formulate new support to CETP for 2021-2025.

PEM formulates the required documentation for the expected total contribution of DKK 50 million from the Danish Climate Envelope, with a focus on: i) Continuing and increasing the strong Danish support for the E4 programme; ii) targeted support for CETP work in China, India and Indonesia; iii) secondment of an energy expert to IEA’s secretariat in Paris.
