Stephanie has 10 years of professional experience related to development cooperation and sustainability issues, with a main focus on sustainable energy, impacts of infrastructure development (energy and mining) and climate change mitigation.
She is well experienced in project/programme formulation, evaluation and review. This includes global thematic evaluation, and country programme evaluation. Stephanie is currently finalizing the Mid-Term review of the Indicative Cooperation Programme between Lao PDR and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, for which she was the Team Leader. She was also involved in a thematic evaluation of the EU Sustainable Energy Cooperation. In 2016, Stephanie carried out a South-South Cooperation Programme formulation for the UNDP with the aim to leveraging Chinese technological know-how for the implementation of GEF – NAMA pilot project in Sri Lanka – and -dissemination of low emission technologies for energy productive uses in Ethiopia. Based in Southeast Asia for seven years, Stephanie has worked with government stakeholders to mainstream renewable energy into policies and strategies for energy access, energy security, and climate change mitigation. As a research analyst, Stephanie has been engaged with the private sector in energy business development, as well as training and mentoring of project developers and technology suppliers in building renewable energy business cases (incl. socio-economic and environmental benefits). Stephanie also worked on good management practices and social responsibility in the extractives industries (i.e mining and energy). As part of mining companies’ Environmental and Social Management Plans, she has been engaged in monitoring livelihood changes in communities impacted by large project’s operations, incl. large household socio-economic surveys, review of ESIAs, and community participatory planning exercises. She was engaged in a World Bank study on electricity utilities best practices for managing social and gender impacts of infrastructure development.
