Kris is a senior expert in natural resource management, environment, climate change, ecosystem conservation, biodiversity, rural development, agriculture, livelihoods, water resources, and environmental governance. He holds a master’s degree in human geography from University of Copenhagen. Kris has approx. 25 years of professional experience as international consultant, team leader, programme and project manager and advisor, including experience from positions in the UN system and international NGOs. He has carried out numerous assignments in more than 45 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas for a broad range of multilateral institutions, bilateral donors, and NGOs – including the European Commission, IUCN, UNEP, UNDP, FAO, UNOPS, IFAD, the Nordic Development Fund, Danida, Sida, Norad, GIZ, Luxembourg, DfID, WWF, Birdlife Denmark, and CISU.
Kris is well versed in all stages of the programme cycle, including identification, formulation, apprasial, monitoroing, evaluation, review, implementation, and management. In particular, he is specialised in complex evaluation of policies and strategies, regional and country programmes, multi-country thematic programmes, as well as on-the-ground projects. Kris also has experience with policy formulation, and he has strong network and knowledge management experience.
