PEMconsult was established in 1995 by a core team of development consultants seeing a critical need for combining cross-sectoral expertise. Over the past 25 years, we have built a strong reputation for a high impact, integrated and people-centered approach. One of the leading Danish firms within international development cooperation, we have completed more than 1100 assignments in 98 countries worldwide, including Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. We have 9 partners and four staff managing operations at PEM’s headquarters in Copenhagen. In addition to our partly-owned subsidiary PEM East Africa, we have formalised cooperation agreements with a number of key senior international and national experts in the regions where we work and a vast international network of consultants.

Our expertise includes comprehensive experience in programme and project design and formulation, design and implementation of capacity building and training programmes, studies, reviews and evaluations, and actual project implementation. The crucial foundation in all of our work is the importance of understanding the perspective of the people involved in these processes, and empowering them as groups and individuals. As experts in development cooperation, fulfilling our role as listeners and facilitators in these processes is vital to achieving sustainable solutions.
